Schoo of Saviors Online is based on an Anime ”World Break: Aria of Curse for a Holy Swordsman”. Cooperate with Asobimo, a Japanese game company. This game is an action based MMORPG. In this project, I was the leader of the design team. My duties included:
  • Assign works to team members and controlled the team performance.
  • Design the core mechanic and daily activity cycle.
  • Inspired team members and kept the team improving constantly.
  • Communicate with Japanese partner ensure we have the same vision

  • Design skill and skill tree UI/UX.

  • Design and edit some enemy AI
Skill UI Design
In this game, players can carry 4 different skills at the same time. In order to let new players easily understand skill system and reduce the frustration, I give different catalog for each slot:
  • First slot: Primary damage skill that player may use very often.
  • Second slot: Second damage or convenient skill, like dash or increase damage buff.
  • Third slot: Survival skill, like stun, healing, or parry.
  • Forth slot: Ultimate skill that are super powerful but long cool down time.
With this UI, players can change their skill easily. They still can change the catalog of each slot if they want and create their own style combat combination.
